04 Lincoln Aviator (Ultimate Edition)

This has been my wife's personal vehicle. Her driving needs have now changed so we no longer have a use for this very nice Aviator. She used it on a daily basis to commute to work, so I have maintained the vehicle religiously. I don't know one thing it needs and all Electronics and Special Features and Options that this Aviator is equipped with, perform as designed. Anytime I had even the smallest issue, I had it immediatlely diagnosed and updated if needed. I felt VERY COMFORTABLE with her driving this Aviator because of the Advanced Safety Engineering it has, and the fact that there is some actual "strength" to the body design. So many of the new vehicles are so "lightweight" that they really don't provide the level of protection that I prefer, if they are ever involved in an accident. (I am NOT comfortable with that scenario.) I wanted her in a vehicle that not only had State of the Art Safety Features, but also would not "collapse like a tissue box" in a collision situation. It has been a very good vehicle and it literally looks like new yet.

I looked a long time to find this Aviator, since they really are quite hard to come by. As you may or may not know, the Aviator was only built for three years which were 2003, 2004, and 2005. Lincoln Motor Division quit making this very well liked Luxury Sport Utility, because that was about the time that the Crossover Sport Utes seemed to be the hottest thing on the horizon. Also, with the daunting new price tag of the Aviator (approximately $50,000 with the way this one is equipped), it took a rather unique buyer, to spend that much money. (Someone that really appreciated engineering, luxury, looks and safety features.) I believe Ford Motor Co. decided that "cheaper was better" and therefore the Aviator was discontinued. So.., unfortunately they ceased building them in the 2006 model year. There were MANY Aviator lovers who were extremely disappointed, because it had all of the luxury items of the full size Sport Utility combined with the SUPERB 4.6 Litre Dual Overhead Cam 32 Valve High Performance V8. (This is the same engine that the SVT Mustangs had in that era. It has AN AMAZING 302 hp. & 300 ft. lbs. of Torque.) To put those numbers in perspective, that is about 30% more Horsepower and Torque than many Corvettes had in the early 70's!

With the AWD, Heated & Air Conditioned Seats, Front and Rear Heat and AC, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Tire-pressure Monitor, Traction Control, Dual Climate Control, ABS, Power Sunroof, Rear DVD Entertainment System, 7 Speaker INCREDIBLE Sound System with 6 Disc CD Player and Bass Speaker, Satellite Radio, Advance Trac, Roll Stability Control, the Superb Powertrain referred to above, Very Nice Leather Interior, and an endless list of other features, there simply is not another Sport Utility quite like this Aviator that was built in that era. Safety features include Anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist, Dual-stage Frontal Air bags, Safety Canopy Airbags for protection in Side Impacts and Rollovers, and Front Safety Belts with Pre-tensioners and Load-limiting Retractors. It also has Three-point Lap and Shoulder Belts for all Seating Positions, Childproof Rear-door Locks, and LATCH Universal Child Safety Seat Latches. And finally, both my wife and I will attest to the fact that this Aviator is simply SUPERB in ice and snow. With all of the Electronic Monitoring in the Powertrain, you continuously feel like you are driving on dry pavement. It really does operate and handle superbly on any type of slippery surface!

Another huge bonus is the fact it has an actual "truck" frame (which most of the small Sport Utilities no longer have), so you can pull a fairly good sized trailer too. And, yes, this Aviator has the optional Trailer Tow package, so you can tow up to 7300 pounds! I also added a Bug Deflector and Factory Ford Molded Mud Guards to protect the paint. It really does have it all!

If you go to Kelly Blue Book Consumer Reviews of this year Aviator on the internet, you will find that it scores 8.9 out of 10 with over 200 Reviews. That is VERY GOOD! And.., most people say that they will never sell it, and wish Lincoln would not have quit making them. Many of the reviews are from owners that purchased them new, as well as many second and third owners, but in most all cases, they really like the Aviator and many of them rated them at a perfect 10 out of 10 Stars! In addition, Edmunds Website has 4.5 out of 5 Stars with 155 Reviews. That is tough to beat!

This very nice Aviator had a base MSRP of $42,890, and also has the following options:

Premium Preferred Equipment Group (which included the following items) - $2690

  • Audiophile Stereo with 7 Speakers and Base Speaker
  • Six-disc CD Changer
  • High-intensity-discharge Headlamps
  • Heated and Cooled Driver and Passenger Seats

AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control with Roll Stability Control - $860
Power Glass Sunroof - $1595
Rear Seat DVD Entertainment System - $1295
Class III Trailer Hitch - $395
17" Chrome Wheels - $795

TOTAL MSRP: $50,520.00 (That was a lot of money in 2004 for a Mid-Size Sport Utility..!!)

Note: These 04 Aviators are EXTREMELY well built, have tons of Power, many Safety Engineering Features and are decked out with Luxury Appointments throughout the vehicle! They are also very comfortable to ride in. For a Mid-Size Sport Utility in 2004, there simply was no other vehicle in its class to even compete with it.

You will love this Aviator!

MY PRICE: $11,450

(Priced very fair to sell quickly at only 1/5 of Original Cost..!)
